SOLOMON MORGAN
Solomon Morgan was born in 1735 in South Carolina and died in Darlington Dist.

He served as a private in the Revolutionary War from S.C. in1780 and 1781
under the command of Col John Baxter in Gen. Francis Marion's Brigade.He
served 242 days from Nov. 15,1780 to July 15,1781 and was paid 17 pounds
5 shillings and 1 pence sterling on Jan. 26,1786.Rev. Morgan filed a claim for
the loss of a horse in service in 1781 for 42 pounds 17 shillings 1 pence
sterling on Jan. 26,1786.On July 11,1785 he was paid 12 pounds 17 shillings
1 pence half penny for work as a gunsmith makings horseman's swords for
Gen. Marion's Brigade in 1781. ¹¹⁷
