Died after falling from the windmill he was trying to repair. ¹¹⁶

When Dolly's father died in 1927, she and her sister Ada were removed from the care of their mother and sent to the Saint Vincent Orphanage in Santa Fe, NM. Dolly was later sent to a girls school in Los Lunas, NM. When she left the girls school, she went to stay with her half-sister, May Vadis Ashby Jones. She married Albert Jones, the brother of Mary's husband, Floyd Jones. ¹¹⁶ ¹⁷⁶

Albert married Dolly Fay ZOOK,¹¹⁶ daughter of Oliver Newton ZOOK and Rosa Bell FORD, on 10 Dec 1933 in Big Spring, Howard, TX.¹¹⁶ Dolly was born on 13 Sep 1915 in Grant, NM,^{¹¹⁶ ¹⁷⁸} died on 20 Dec 2000 in Hobbs, Lea, NM ^¹¹⁶ at age 85, and was buried on 22 Dec 2000 in Prairie Haven Memorial Park, Hobbs, Lea, NM.^¹¹⁶

Marriage Notes: When Gene wanted to join the Navy he had to have a birth certificate, but didn't have one as he was born at home as were the first 6 children of Albert and Dolly. They all had to go to the county seat and prove the birth before a document could be drawn up. In some cases like Vern the attendess at the birth went to the county seat right away to file the necessary papers for birth certificate. Aunt May Ashby Jones attended most of the births, lived where four counties come together: Dawson, Martin, Borden, and Howard. Most of the children were born in Aunty May's house, but the parents may have lived in one of the other counties an dso the ibrths could be reported in either place.
