Nothing has been found so far on the parentage of Willis Butler.He stated at one time that he was an orphan.
Willis Butler was a member of the Magnolia Rangers,1st Texas Calvary.
This unit was formed in January 1861 before Texas seceded from the union. 117

REES2, Daniel1) was born in 1807 in Marion Co., Mississippi,117 118 died in 1879 in Galveston Co., TX. 117 at age 72, and was buried in Magnolia Cemetery.117 Other names for Hepsy were HEPSY, and118 Hepisbar PERKINS.118
